So why no brand name or logo?
Because this isn’t about Horologically Unique or wanting to build a watch brand around it. Horologically Unique was born simply to sell off majority of my collection, while also meeting new people and making new friends along the way.
Owning a watch solely because of what it is, and paying for what the watch offers exactly, not for what the label on the dial says.❤️
This is a personal and fun project for you guys that I really want to produce where anyone can afford such a classic, beautiful and elegant Calatrava style watch.
At the same time, I do not wish to simply offer something cheap just for the sake of it, where obviously it feels cheap as well, and then bullshit everyone saying it “offers value for money”.
I wanted to offer something truly of quality where everybody and anybody would feel great holding and wearing, therefore no detail especially on the case, dial, and hands were overlooked.
Speaking of quality, one of the most important things about a watch is what makes it tick!
So for an ultra-slim dress watch, encased in a classic 36mm size, and inspired from the vintage days, there was truly one movement that instantly came to mind and I am certain most would as well.
(Everyone also voted wanting for a manual-winding movement so!😆)
That is the notable, famed, and historic manual-wind ultra-thin Swiss Peseux/ETA 7001!
Used by many prominent watchmakers and brands for last five decades since its release in 1971/1972, the Peseux/ETA 7001 has proven to be highly reliable and all round fantastic movement to use, featuring 17 jewels and operating at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz frequency).
It employs Incabloc for its anti-shock system, has a 42-hour power reserve, and key components include an index regulator and a Swiss lever escapement.
